Last Updated: June 13, 2026

Effective Date: June 13, 2026

1. Introduction & Scope

Tax Reduction Specialists ("TRS," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information when you visit our website, communicate with us, or use our services. It applies to information collected through our website, by phone or email, and in the course of providing tax planning and advisory services.

This policy is intended to address the requirements of comprehensive U.S. state privacy laws, including those of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Florida, Delaware, Iowa, Indiana, Tennessee, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Nebraska, Minnesota, Maryland, and other states as such laws take effect. Where a specific state grants rights beyond those described in the general sections, the State-Specific Disclosures in Section 10 control for residents of that state.

PLEASE NOTE

By using our services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Where applicable law requires consent for a specific processing activity (for example, processing certain sensitive data), we will obtain that consent as required rather than relying on your general use of the site.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the categories of information described below. The specific information collected depends on how you interact with us and which services you engage.

Information You Provide:

Identifiers: full name, email address, phone number, and mailing address

Professional and business information: employment details, business ownership and entity information

Financial information: tax returns, income statements, investment records, and related documentation

Estate and trust documentation provided in connection with planning engagements

Government identifiers, such as Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number, where necessary to deliver services

Communications and correspondence you send to us

Information Collected Automatically

IP address, browser type, device information, and operating system

Pages visited, time spent on pages, and navigation patterns

Referring website addresses

Information collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7)

Information From Third Parties

We may receive information from professionals you engage with through TRS (such as your CPA, attorney, or financial advisor), from service providers, and from publicly available sources, where relevant to the services you have requested.

3. Sensitive Information & Financial Data

Because our services involve tax and wealth planning, we may collect information that certain state laws classify as "sensitive." This may include Social Security or Tax Identification Numbers, precise financial account information, and other data revealing financial circumstances.

We collect and process sensitive information only as reasonably necessary to provide the services you request, to comply with legal obligations, or as otherwise permitted by law. Where a state law requires your consent (opt-in) before processing sensitive data, we will obtain that consent. Where a state law instead provides a right to limit or opt out of sensitive-data processing, we honor that right as described in Sections 8 and 10.

CCO/LEGAL REVIEW NEEDED

Confirm whether TRS's collection of SSNs/TINs and financial records is treated as a regulated "financial institution" activity under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA). Most comprehensive state privacy laws exempt GLBA-regulated data (and some exempt the entity entirely). The applicable exemption affects which obligations in this policy legally apply. See Section 11.

4. How We Use Your Information

To provide, deliver, and administer tax planning and advisory services

To analyze your financial situation and develop personalized planning strategies

To communicate with you about services, updates, and recommendations

To send periodic information about tax-law developments that may be relevant to you

To comply with legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping requirements

To operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website and services

To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, security incidents, and misuse

We do not use your information for purposes that are incompatible with those described here without providing notice or obtaining consent where required.

5. Legal Bases & Purposes of Processing

We process personal information to perform the services you request, to comply with our legal obligations, to pursue our legitimate business interests (such as securing and improving our services) in a manner consistent with your rights, and based on your consent where required. We limit our collection and processing to what is reasonably necessary and proportionate for the disclosed purposes.

6. How We Share & Disclose Information

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under applicable law. We may disclose information in the following circumstances:

Independent Professionals: With CPAs, attorneys, financial planners, insurance and actuarial professionals, and other specialists involved in delivering the services you request, each bound by confidentiality obligations.

Service Providers / Processors: With vendors that perform services on our behalf (such as hosting, document management, communications, and analytics) under contracts that limit their use of the information to providing those services.

Legal & Compliance: When required by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or governmental request, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

With Your Direction or Consent: When you direct us to share information or otherwise consent.

NO SALE & NO TARGETED ADVERTISING | NO OPT-OUT LINK PROVIDED

TRS does not sell personal information, does not sell products through this website, and does not share or disclose personal information for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising as those terms are defined under applicable state privacy laws. We also do not engage in profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Because we do not sell, share, or target, we are not required to and do not provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" or "Your Privacy Choices" opt-out link. If our practices ever change, we will update this policy and provide any opt-out link and mechanism required by law before engaging in any such activity.

7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and understand usage:

Essential Cookies: Required for core website functionality.

Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how visitors interact with the site.

Preference Cookies: Remember your settings and preferences.

You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality. Where required, we honor browser- or device-based opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control) as a valid request to opt out of any sale or targeted-advertising processing for that browser or device.

8. Your Privacy Rights (All Consumers)

Subject to verification and applicable legal exemptions, you may have the following rights regarding personal information we hold about you:

Right to Access / Know: To confirm whether we process your personal information and to obtain a copy and details about our processing.

Right to Correct: To request correction of inaccurate personal information.

Right to Delete: To request deletion of personal information, subject to legal retention obligations.

Right to Data Portability: To obtain a copy of certain information in a portable format.

Right to Opt Out: Of any sale of personal information, targeted/cross-context behavioral advertising, and certain profiling, where applicable.

Right to Limit Sensitive Data: To limit use of sensitive personal information where a state provides that right.

Right to Non-Discrimination: To not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.

Right to Appeal: To appeal a denied request where the applicable state provides an appeal process.

Right to Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent.

9. How to Exercise Your Rights

You (or an authorized agent) may submit a request using the contact methods in Section 18. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding, which may require confirming information we already hold about you.

We respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally 45 days, with an extension where permitted). There is no fee for most requests, though we may charge a reasonable fee or decline requests that are excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded, as permitted by law.

If we deny your request, you may appeal by contacting us using the same methods; we will respond to appeals within the period required by your state's law and, where applicable, inform you how to contact your state Attorney General if you have concerns.

10. State-Specific Privacy Disclosures

California (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. Because TRS does not sell or share personal information (including for cross-context behavioral advertising), no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" or "Your Privacy Choices" link is required or provided. California residents also have a right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights and may use an authorized agent to submit requests. Categories of personal information we collect are described in Sections 2-3; the business/commercial purposes for collection are in Section 4; and the categories of recipients are in Section 6. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

"Shine the Light" (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83): We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Montana (MCDPA), Texas (TDPSA), Oregon (OCPA), Delaware (DPDPA), New Jersey (NJDPA), New Hampshire, Nebraska, Minnesota, Maryland, and Similar States

Residents of these states may have rights to confirm and access their personal data; correct inaccuracies; delete personal data; obtain a portable copy; and opt out of (i) the sale of personal data, (ii) targeted advertising, and (iii) certain profiling in furtherance of decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects. We do not sell personal data, conduct targeted advertising, or engage in such profiling. Processing of sensitive data is conducted only with consent where required. You may appeal a denied request as described in Section 9. Some states (such as Oregon) also allow you to request a list of specific third parties to whom we have disclosed personal data.

Utah (UCPA) and Iowa (ICDPA)

Residents of Utah and Iowa have rights to access, delete, and obtain a portable copy of personal data, and to opt out of the sale of personal data and targeted advertising. These states generally use an opt-out (rather than opt-in) model for sensitive data; we provide notice and the ability to opt out of sensitive-data processing where required

Florida (FDBR)

Where applicable, Florida residents have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of personal data, and to opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. Applicability depends on statutory thresholds.

Nevada

Nevada residents may submit a verified request directing us not to sell certain covered information. We do not sell covered information as defined under Nevada law.

CCO/LEGAL REVIEW NEEDED

State coverage thresholds (consumer counts, revenue, and the share of revenue from data sales) and the GLBA/financial-data exemptions determine which of these state laws actually bind TRS. This section is drafted to be over-inclusive for safety; legal counsel should confirm which states apply and trim accordingly. Also confirm the correct Attorney General references and any data-protection-assessment obligations.

11. Financial Information & GLBA Notice

Some of the information we handle in the course of providing tax and financial planning services may be "nonpublic personal information" subject to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and related rules. To the extent the GLBA applies, we collect, use, and disclose such information consistent with the GLBA and its implementing regulations, and many comprehensive state privacy laws exempt GLBA-regulated data or GLBA-regulated entities. Where the GLBA governs particular information, the GLBA framework rather than the general state-law provisions above may control how that information is handled.

CCO/LEGAL REVIEW NEEDED

Confirm whether TRS issues, or must issue, a separate GLBA privacy notice (the "initial and annual privacy notice" / Regulation P-style notice) and how it interlocks with this policy. A tax-advisory firm collecting SSNs and tax returns frequently has GLBA obligations distinct from state consumer privacy laws.

12. Data Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal and financial information, including:

SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit

Secure document upload and storage systems

Periodic security reviews and vulnerability assessments

Workforce training on data-protection practices

Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will provide notice as required by applicable law.

13. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, to provide our services, and to comply with legal, regulatory, tax, and recordkeeping obligations. Tax-related records are generally retained for a minimum of seven years in accordance with applicable IRS and recordkeeping requirements, and may be retained longer where required or permitted by law. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

14. Children's Privacy

Our services are directed to adults and are not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

15. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party websites you visit.

16. International / Out-of-State Users

TRS operates in the United States. If you access our services from outside your state of residence or from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your location.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date and, where required by law, communicated to you. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

18. Contact Us

If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, or if you wish to exercise your privacy rights, you may contact us using either of the two methods below:

To help us respond, please identify the right you wish to exercise and provide enough information for us to verify your identity and locate your records. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
